Capturing moments of innovation, learning, and success
Innovation is never built in isolation, it is strengthened through collaboration, constructive feedback, and a shared vision for the future. Today, we had the honor of hosting a distinguished team from the School of Computing and Informatics at Nkumba University at the Gaster AI Innovation Hub. Their visit was dedicated to evaluating E-Katale, our flagship AI-powered digital marketplace, before its official launch to the community. E-Katale is more than a technology platform. It is a vision to transform agricultural trade by connecting farmers, SMEs, grocery outlets, and consumers through an intelligent, transparent, and efficient digital ecosystem. By promoting value addition, market access, and digital inclusion, we believe E-Katale has the potential to empower thousands of farmers and strengthen Uganda's agricultural economy. The team's technical review, thoughtful recommendations, and encouragement reaffirmed that impactful innovation is achieved through partnerships between academia, industry, and the community. Their insights will play an important role as we complete the final refinements ahead of launch. I extend my sincere appreciation to the leadership and team from Nkumba University for believing in our vision and for taking the time to support this important milestone. Together, we are demonstrating that solutions capable of transforming communities can be designed, built, and scaled from Uganda. This is only the beginning. We remain committed to building technologies that solve real-world challenges, create opportunities, and position Uganda as a leader in African innovation.
Technology is no longer the future, it is the foundation of sustainable cities. Our passionate team is committed to transforming Uganda, beginning with Entebbe, a city that already possesses the strategic potential to become Uganda's first true Smart City. We are ready to tackle youth unemployment through technology, with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI), digital innovation, and practical skills development that create real opportunities. Our newly launched book, Urban Intelligence: How African Nations Can Build Lasting Wealth Through Urban Intelligence (First Edition), presents this vision in detail. Out of its 250 pages, over 80 pages are dedicated to Entebbe, outlining practical strategies, smart city frameworks, policy recommendations, and technology-driven innovations that can transform the city into a model for Africa. We call upon the Government of Uganda to partner with visionary innovators by creating opportunities within the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, the Ministry of Local Government, and the Ministry responsible for urban development. Together, we can unlock the full potential of technology and build smarter cities, empower our youth, and shape a prosperous Uganda.
CEO and a team had the privilege of meeting Mr. Miti Ibrahim, Senior Assistant Town Clerk of Entebbe Municipality, to discuss the future of digital public service delivery and the vision of transforming Entebbe into Uganda's first Smart City. Our conversation focused on digitizing essential municipal services such as operational permits, birth certificates, and death certificates. A citizen should not have to spend UGX 20,000 on transport to apply for a certificate worth UGX 5,000. Instead, residents should be able to apply online, upload the required documents, make secure payments, and download approved PDF certificates from anywhere, even outside office hours. Cities such as Tallinn (Estonia), Singapore, and Dubai (UAE) have shown that digital government services improve transparency, reduce operational costs, increase efficiency, and strengthen government revenue collection while delivering better services to citizens. also had the honor of presenting Mr. Miti Ibrahim with a copy of Urban Intelligence: How African Nations Can Build Lasting Wealth Through Urban Intelligence (First Edition), which outlines practical strategies and innovations for transforming Entebbe into a world-class Smart City. Together, we can build smarter cities, empower citizens, and create a digitally inclusive Uganda.
Innovation Meets Aviation: A Conversation on Uganda's Future Today, our CEO and a team had the privilege of attending the 3rd National Aviation Summit at St. Juliana High School, Gayaza, organized by Captain Oxtone Lubega, CEO of Aerospace Uganda. The summit brought together visionary leaders, aviation professionals, innovators, and young people committed to shaping Uganda's future. One of the highlights of the day was a one-on-one engagement with Captain Mike Mukula. Beyond his remarkable success in business and aviation, I found him to be a leader who values innovation, bold thinking, and long-term wealth creation. it was a Great honor to present him with a copy of the book, Urban Intelligence: How African Nations Can Build Lasting Wealth Through Urban Intelligence. Our discussion centered on how innovation, smart cities, digital transformation, and entrepreneurship can unlock Africa's next generation of prosperity. His positive reception of the book and the insights he shared on building lasting success were both inspiring and deeply motivating. Great nations are built by people who think beyond today's challenges and invest in tomorrow's opportunities. Every conversation with accomplished leaders reinforces my belief that innovation is not just about technology, it's about creating systems, institutions, and ideas that generate sustainable wealth for generations. This experience has strengthened our commitment to building solutions that transform Uganda and Africa while continuing my journey toward creating global impact. The future belongs to those who dare to think differently, build relentlessly, and create value that outlives them.
Today, we had the privilege of welcoming a distinguished delegation from the Uganda Vocational and Technical Assessment Board (UVTAB) to the Gaster AI Skilling Initiative Uganda Limited offices. It was an honor to share our vision, our journey, and the work we are doing to empower Ugandans with practical technology, artificial intelligence, and innovation skills. During their visit, we showcased our training programs, ongoing community initiatives, and our new innovation development site where our team designs and builds technology solutions to address real-world challenges. It was inspiring to see their genuine interest in our mission and their appreciation for the impact we are creating through technology-driven skills development. One of the highlights of the visit was presenting our flagship agricultural innovation, E-Katale an AI-powered digital marketplace designed to connect farmers, SMEs, and consumers while improving market access, reducing post-harvest losses, and strengthening Uganda's agricultural value chain. Their positive feedback and encouragement reaffirmed our commitment to building solutions that create lasting social and economic impact. We were also honored to present copies of our book, Urban Intelligence, which outlines our vision for leveraging technology, artificial intelligence, and smart city innovations to drive sustainable urban development in Uganda. We were deeply encouraged by their recommendation that the Government consider acquiring the book for government and school libraries so that students, researchers, policymakers, and future innovators can benefit from its insights. Such recognition motivates us to continue contributing knowledge that can shape Uganda's digital future. At Gaster AI, we firmly believe that innovation grows through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and empowering communities with the right skills. We are grateful to the UVTAB team for taking the time to visit us, engage with our work, and recognize the potential of our initiatives. Your encouragement strengthens our resolve to continue building solutions that transform lives and inspire the next generation of innovators. The future of Uganda will be built by those who dare to innovate, collaborate, and invest in knowledge. Together, we can create a smarter, more inclusive, and technology-driven nation.
